Here’s to another successful Fall Meeting! The 2-day meeting took place at the Westin Chattanooga with members from all over the state coming together to learn about the latest in association and industry developments, network with peers and have loads of fun in the process. The meeting concluded with our installation banquet where many were honored.

Ethan Collier with Collier Build was sworn in as the HBAT 2020 President. Ethan was surrounded by family and friends cheering him on for this new journey of leading this great association. HBAT 2019 President Jimmy Franks was gracious in passing the president’s gavel to Ethan. Jimmy offered Ethan words of support and wished him success for next year.

During the awards portion of the night, HBAT Past President Keith Whittington, former HBAT Area VP & Life Director Terry McBath, and HBA of Greater Past President Dan Michelle were all inducted into the prestigious Tennessee Building Industry Hall of Fame. These great men are well respected in their communities and in the industry; very proud of their accomplishments. In addition to being inducted in the Hall of Fame, Dan Mitchell was also awarded the Builder of the Year Award. Congratulations to Peaches Searles on being named HBAT Associate of the Year. And our first recipient of the coveted Tennessee BEAM (Builder Engaging Associate Members) Award was given to Tim Hicks. Tim is currently running for State House of Representatives for District 6. HBAT wishes Tim good luck in the elections.

Lastly, the association recognized and bid a farewell to the person whose been instrumental in leading this association for the past 20 years, Susan Ritter. HBAT’s EVP is retiring at the end of this year. Her impact on the association is far-reaching and she will be greatly missed. We wish Susan the best in all future endeavors. Lastly, to all those who attended the event and supported the association, many thanks for making this fall meeting such a success. We hope you will join us for our upcoming Spring Meeting & Legislative Conference this coming March in Nashville.
