Residential Continuing Education Requirements

Residential contractor licenses, those issued after January 1, 2009, will be required to show proof of eight (8) of RCE hours, from an approved RCE provider, with their contractor’s license renewal, starting with contractors expiring on or after January 31, 2022. The law requires renewals to be filed 30 days prior to their expiration date to allow time for processing and prevent contracting while expired. An individual designated as the residential Qualifying Agent (QA) is responsible for attaining RCE on behalf of the licensed entity. For contractors with multiple residential QA’s, only one (1) individual is required to obtain RCE to fulfill the RCE license renewal requirements.
